Surrounded by the Southern Ocean and home to the geographic South Pole, Antarctica is the southern-most continent on earth.
At 14,000,000km2, Antarctica is the 5th largest continent, and on average, it is also the coldest, driest and windiest continent with the highest average elevation.
All of these factors make Antarctica one of the most challenging environments in the world to conduct Helicopter operations.
As part of our ever growing list of specialist expertise, we are proud to state that since January 2015 we have acquired over 800 hours of Antarctic Flight Experience over six summer seasons, safely and efficiently conducting operations such as;
- Research support
- Ship to Shore movements
- Passenger Transport
- Precision Sling Line Operations
- Geographical and Wildlife Surveys
- Soil Sampling
- Deployment of research teams
- Search and Rescue operations
- Reconnaissance flights
Being one of only a few Helicopter Operators worldwide to have conducted operations in Antarctica, Ultimate HELI has the expertise to support any operation in any such environment throughout the world.
