Ultimate Aviation is proud to have supported the successful 3y0K Bouvet Island DXpedition, operating in one of the most remote and logistically challenging environments in the world.
Bouvet Island is among the least visited places on Earth, with very limited successful landings due to weather and sea conditions.
Operations were conducted from the MV Argus icebreaker, utilizing an AS350 B3 helicopter.
Bouvet Island is known for its extreme winds, heavy ocean swell, and frequent low visibility from snow and fog, all of which make access and landing operations exceptionally challenging.
Our helicopter crew safely transported 21 expedition members and approximately 4 tons of cargo to and from the island, enabling the successful establishment and operation of a remote amateur radio station.
The expedition achieved over 102,000 radio contacts (QSOs), setting a new record for Bouvet Island DXpeditions. This represents one of the largest private expeditions undertaken to Bouvet Island.
